Description

A period German Heer infantry pipped crusher cap. A true and factory issued example. Piped in white for Infantry. The cap body is manufactured of a nice doeskin wool material. The cap has seen combat and actual field use. Soiling, staining and a lived in look nicely present in the cap. It has held up condition wise very nicely and retains its « BeVo » flat wire insignia period attached. The visor itself is still pliable and exhibits light crazing throughout its top surface. Of interesting note is the impression of the cap body making on the visor from storage over the decades. No tears or rips on the exterior but gentle nap loss and some debris along the back unexposed area from resting. The interior of the crusher cap is what one wants to see on an issued period piece. Manufactured with a tear drop shaped perforated leather sweatband. Still factory sewn and maintained in place with nice wear all around. Oil and other natural grim present amongst the complete stitching. Slight separation along the back yet retaining its rayon bowtie. Rayon lining in a golden brown color is complete with no tears but soiling present. Maker marked but unreadable along the side. The size is  « 57 ». This particular crusher cap pipped in from infantry and in this specific condition is a very desirable item. Rarely offered on the public market and missing from almost all headgear collections. A true combat piece!
