Description

An M1935 ex-double decal Heer combat helmet. The helmet is an « ET64 » with a lot number of « 4032 ». The helmet still retains its original factory applied apple green paint finish. Overall the exterior shows combat and storage wear through the years. Several ares of paint loss but in general rationing over 85% of the finish. Normal amount of scuffs and scraps. The Heer decal rates in at 90% with some wear and a normal amount crazing due to storage condition. The national shield has been removed as per the regulations of the time. The removal was done with somewhat of care and not exposing the metal underneath but retains the paint rather nicely. Split pins are present, secured highly and retain the majority of their finish. Some rust and corrosion is present on the air vents probably from bad storage. The helmets interior has seen better days unfortunately. The leather liner is completely soaked, possibly stained and retaining a dark black color. Early liner band is present. Original period shortened leather chinstraps present. Overall a nice example of a hard to find variation that would of seen extensive service in the early years of the war.
