M40 Heer reissued single decal combat helmet, « EF68 / depot over paint »
Description
A very nice M1940 Heer single decal re-issue combat helmet. The helmet is an « EF68 » with a lot number of « 21889 ». The helmet's exterior features a period dark feldgrau hand applied paint finish. It covers the entire helmet and is painted nicely around the factory applied decal. Matte to the touch. The decal has really dark gold toning present and rates well over 97%. Split pins intact, tightly secured and mostly retain their finish. Some overrun of the paint along the left split paint is a nice feature to see. Being an earlier example the interior remains complete and in untouched condition. Early aluminum liner system is in place. Leather liner shows some use but retains a nice dark brown leather appearance. Drawstring in place. Leather chinstrap complete with a nice grey painted adjustable buckle. Early example and proper for this helmet is its fully maker marked and dated « H. EGER & LINDEN SELIGENTHAL / TH 1941 ». Overall a really nice large sized and rare untouched Heer combat helmet. Classic desirable example!
