M40 Heer tan spray camouflage combat helmet, « ex-strap »
Description
A very unique M1940 Heer single decal tan spray camouflage combat helmet. The helmet is an « E.F.64 » with a lot number of « 5046 ». The helmet features a very attractive exterior showing the outline of a wide strap placed on the helmet for camouflage purposes at the time and receiving a spray coat of tan paint. The strap is absent and has created a very unique outline. The camouflage paint is still retains a vivid eye appeal. Normal to moderate amount of scuffs and scraps. Some rim wear is present. The decal rates in at approximately 85% with some flacking and wear in certain areas. Several high quality and detailed photos are attached below showing the paint in greater detail. The interior of the helmet is untouched and undisturbed. Complete and still retaining a supple lightly worn leather liner. Named at least three different times and complete with its drawstring. « CASSENS / LM / KELL / KARSTÄDT ». Faintly size stamped on one of the leather tongues. The chinstrap is complete and maker marked « SACHS & DEISSELBERG HAMBURG 1940 ». Dust and dirt debris can be found around the liner band. Named in white paint to « CASSENS ». Overall a very nice and eye appealing camouflage combat helmet.
