Description

Very nice M1940 Heer former single decal three tone « NORMANDY » spray camouflage combat helmet. The helmet is an « NS66 » with a lot number of « 0166 ». The helmets exterior features a very subdued yet effective three tone camouflage spray applied finish in the basic colors of tan, brown, and brick red. The camouflage rates roughly in at 96% and retains its original matte look and feel to the paint. Some minor scuffs and scraps present with normal rim wear. Evidence of a Heer decal is present on the wearer's left side. All split pins are present, securely attached and retain their camouflage finish. The helmets interior is untouched and in its original state. Leather of the liner shows some use with a darker tone in the color. Minor fraying and evidence of wear is nicely present. Retains its original drawstring. Chinstrap is fully present and shows use. Complete with the maker mark and date nicely stamped along the tip « Heinrich Sohn K. Neu-Ulm 1942 ». The helmet is also faintly ink marked with the former soldiers last name. A choice combat German helmet with a subtle camouflage finish.
