M40 Luftwaffe tan spray camouflage combat helmet, « ET68 »
Description
A very nice and attractive M1940 Luftwaffe single decal tan spray camouflage combat helmet. The helmet is a large « ET68 » with lot number « 4860 ». The helmet's exterior retains a nice light spray coating of olive tan color. It remains in a matte and untouched feel. Severals areas of scuffs, scraps and oxidation are present. This gives the helmet a really nice true combat look. The Luftwaffe factory applied decal can be seen partial spray painted over. Crazing and cracking is nicely present. The helmet's interior is untouched and undisturbed. Complete with leather liner in somewhat supple shape. Ink stamped « 60 » for size. Drawstring is present. Chinstrap is original to the helmet and complete, Czech made example, nicely maker marked and dated « W. Waldow-Launer, Prag 1940 ». The helmets skirt is really nicely named to the former owner in large white paint that is hand painted. Wide brush strokes and hastily done, named to « Treinies ». A choice and very desirable example that could be use for a Felddivision mannequin.
