WWII U.S. Army baseball catcher's chest protector. A nice condition example that features full chest and groin protection for the catcher. Tan lining construction and filled with dense padding possibly horse hair. Nicely trimmed in light brown leather all around. Back rest strap is present and complete. This is usually always missing. Made from a web material with leather straps and clips to the front. This particular example is manufactured by the firm « WILSON » and featured on a woven tag that is machine stitched on the back of the straps. A hard to find accessory!
