US issued camouflage combat gaiter, « 326th Airborne Medical Company - 101st AB »
A very nice and interesting period WWII US issued combat gaiter. The gaiter has been period spray camouflaged with black paint. The paint is present on the outer side indicating that the camouflage spray was applied correctly when the gaiters were worn. The soldier wrote his name and serial number inside « LUCIBELLO THOMAS 31280035 ». Thomas LUCIBELLO (1922-1975) enlisted in the US Army on January 14, 1943, he appeared in the roster of the 250th Station Hospital on December 31, 1943, this unit was responsible for treating the wounded on their return to England. He also appears in the Morning Report of the 326th Airborne Medical Company of the famous 101st Airborne Division dated January 28, 1945. It was found many years ago in Bastogne area.
