USAAF Type B-4 Mae West, « 1943 »
Description
A US WWII issue B-4 « Mae West » life preserver. Manufactured in « August of 1943 ». Rubber is in good shape complete with only one crack along the back extra air tubes and not visible when displayed. Clean with no stains or water marks. A « Dye Marker » is still present, complete and firmly attached. Full length straps are present and all in place, one is fragilized as showed on the pictures. CO2 cartridges are absent. Ink stamped with the maker, date of manufacture and other relative information along the bottom right corner. Inspection stamped and dated « December of 1943 ». A difficult and very desirable example to find in overall good condition. Commonly used by aircrews and airborne.
