Description

Superb early USM1 helmet set that belonged to a sapper of the Engineers. Front seam fixed bale combat helmet, it was field repainted with a heavy coat of green paint over the factory paint before the application of the painted engineers insigias. The chinstrap black buckle has also been repainted in green, nice detail. On each side of the helmet are the castles of the « US Engineers » carefully stencilled in white paint, they are still present at 98%. IThe helmet comes with its original « CAPAC » liner which still retains over 95% of its original paint, the suspension is complete and in excellent condition, green painted steel washers, leather chinstrap with green painted square buckle. On each side of the liner the same insignia is presrnt as on the helmet, also present at over 98%. A very rare helmet in exceptional condition!
