WWII US home-front military service flag. Good overall condition. Manufactured in printed cotton by the firm « EVERWEAR BUNTING/ DETTRAS FLAG PRODUCTS ». Originally designed in 1917 by Army Capt. Robert L. Queisser. Usually with 1 or 2 stars denoting of # of children in service. Manufacture of these was flags only permitted in US and by Gov. License. Replaced later on by the Silver Star Banner. Features 34 white stars on front with the mirror image on the back. Minor stains throughout due to aging and pulled from its original mounting, can be seen on the two ends of the flag. Flag measures and denoted 3 feet by 5 feet. These types of flags were used by an organization to honor their service members or hung from a town hall with these many people in the service. Nice uncommon piece!
