A unique and extremely rare USM1 front seam fixed bale helmet used by the military police of the 2nd Infantry Division. The helmet retains its original period painted 2nd infantry division Indian head emblem painted over an earlier one. The white painted « MP » initials are underneath. The original yellow division band is present under the application of a three color stripped red, blue and thin white band painted on the helmet later during the conflict. Although unknown at this time for what particular purpose. The helmets exterior is in its original undisturbed and as found state. Shows wear, scuffs, and scraps.
