Description

Superb 504th P.I.R. equipment grouping. A nice small grouping belonging to « W.M. McKINLEY » of the 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment , HQ. Company 1st Battalion, Serial number 6560730. He participated in operations in North Africa, in Sicily, and in Italy. He returned to the states after Anzio in May 1944 and became a instructor. The grouping is consisting of his duffle bag, musette bag, webbing suspenders with belt. Standard issued duffel bag that is nicely hand painted and named. In good condition with the majority of the lettering fully remaining and readable. The musette basis fully named with all the soldiers information along the front flap. Shows light wear and one area of staining but complete with all straps functional. Serial numbered on the interior front flap and maker marked for the bag « S.F. CO. 1943 » / « M-0730 ». Included in the group is a set of untouched and period made « RIGGER » modified M-36 suspenders. They have their original heavy reinforced shoulder pads made in part from parachute harness material and padding. They also still retain their untouched ties to shorten the secondary straps. Complete and untouched. Very rare to find an untouched and undisturbed set in their originals state. Choice grouping to one of the most famous P.I.R. !
