Description
Superb MKII steel helmet bearing a hand-painted flash of the Belgian Brigade Piron. This distinguished unit entered combat on 9 August 1944 in Normandy alongside the British 6th Airborne Division, operating through Merville-Franceville, Dives-sur-Mer, Cabourg, Houlgate, Trouville and Deauville, before continuing the liberation campaign into Belgium and the Netherlands. The helmet retains its original thick, sand-textured anti-glare finish. Oilcloth liner in untouched condition, complete with its original web chinstrap. A very nice example in excellent overall condition.
