British signal whistle, « Acme »

A period British made whistle. Manufactured from brass the whistle is complete with chain and hook. Manufactured by the English firm « ACME » which made the crickets that became popular amongst the Airborne troops and used in Normandy, France. Several patent dates are stamped along the top of the whistle. A nice accent piece to a display.
