Description
A very nice and rare early war US jerrycan in tropical paint, captured and repurposed for German use. The jerry can is in very good condition. Features a period tan camouflage paint. Retains well over 90% of its tropical finish. Dated and maker marked. Period unit emblem is painted along the side of the can. Featuring a white shield with a green horizontal sword. This emblem is the one of the 90th Panzer-Grenadier division. This division was formed in Sardinia (an island in the Mediterranean) in June 1943. The division was transferred to Sicily in the fall of 1943 and was deployed to all the major campaigns of Italy, including Cassino, Anzio, and the Battle of the Po River, until it was destroyed at Bologna in April 1945.
