Early Allgemeine SS Visor Cap
Description
Superb Allgemeine SS visor cap, early example. This example is produced in a black wool base that is in excellent condition. No actual wear is present just storage wear. The visor cap body has no holes or rips present. White pipping does show a few small moth nips or snags and does show toning and discoloration from age and storage. The black vulkanfiber visor shows slight crazing but no cracks. Retains its original and never removed chinstrap complete and in excellent condition. The visor cap also retains its original and untouched political style eagle and skull. Both have never been removed and still remain tightly attached. Of interest is both political style eagle and SS skull have the same silverwash finish in appearance and toning from age, a true matching set. Period photos exist showing this combination in wear. Interior of the visor has everything you want to see in a textbook piece. Sweat shield and SS cloth tag, visor ink stamp, oilcloth RZM RFSS tag underneath the sweat shield. All intact and in excellent condition. A true rarity and opportunity to acquire and untouched example. This visor was acquired from the US Veterans estate sale fairly recently and has never been in a collection, from Sgt. Marvin J.Regensburg, serial number 12049253, Haddonfield New-Jersey.
