Description
Superb early German M38 two-tone spray camouflage combat helmet. A US veteran bring back helmet from Italy by Lt Colonel Rudolph P Munz / Serial number 0-234685 / HQ Fifth Army Intelligence.The helmet is an « ET68 » with a lot number of « 151 ». Exterior has a beautiful matte finish in two-tone camouflage paint of known tan and green colors. All spanner bolts present and retain paint. Some combat wear, scuffs and dings are present. Decal is visible under the paint. The liner is complete and in worn condition. Early aluminum liner band is also present. Dust, dirt, and debris are present even what looks like mud. A piece of string is still attached on the back chinstrap, it is a piece of the camouflage net. Field added threading on the male chinstrap snap is also a very nice feature that doesn’t allow it to move up and down along the strap. The long chinstrap is weakened in one place (see pics). Markings on the liner are hard to read but present. The soldier has engraved its name on the inner skirt, next to the helmet size. Choice.
