Early SS-VT infantry pipped EM’s overseas cap
Description
Rare early SS-VT infantry pipped enlisted mans overseas cap. Combat worn examples are extremely rare and impossible to find. This one was found in a house in Menoncourt (France) many years ago and has never been cleaned. Factory construction and in overall good shape. Feldgrau wool body with some minor stains, discoloration, and loose of nap on the wool. Some loose stitching along the perimeter but overall solid. Pipped in the highly desirable branch color of white « waffenfabre ». Side eagle is black wool backed factory made and factory applied by machine stitching. The front retains an opening where your skull button would go and be retained with an « s-hook ». The correct skull button with some use can be easily found and attached to the cap if desired. The cap is manufactured by the known maker « CLEMENS WAGNER » although the ink stamp is barely readable. Size is roughly about a « 57 ». Interior is also soiled and used but fully present. This is one example that has been through a war and shows it really « speaks to you »!
