German equipment and parts storage box, « Ardennes recovered / woodwork find »
Description
A German vehicle storage box labeled « WERKZEUG u. ERSATZTEILE ». Factory construction from a standard gauge steel. Exterior is nicely painted in a late-war vehicle tan standard paint. Some light rust and minor oxidation but overall a really nice untouched look. Retains its complete period label in the interior with the former contents. The bottom is marked « 0000 » for « Auto Union » and serial numbered « 224905-0 ». This case along with the other boxes were recovered as a group from a barn upon demolition in « Mont-de-Fosse » outside « Trois Point » in Belgium. This area saw extensive battles during the Ardennes Offensive / battle of the Bulge during the winter months of « 44/45 ». A really nice and historic vehicle relic.
