German field carbide lantern, « Einheitslaterne 42 »
Description
A late-war German field carbide lantern « EINHEITSLATERNE 42 ». Commonly referred to as « BUNKER LANTERNS » these carbide lanterns were issued to most Wehrmacht and ground force units for field use. This is a handheld metal lantern with a wood handle. It is maker marked « ltf ». The stamped metal components retain about 96% of their original tan « DUNKELGELB » factory applied paint finish. The lantern is complete with all glass panels. Most importantly is the high amount of factory paint still remaining intact is rare to find. Great accessory to compliment a mannequin or vitrine display.
