German folding shovel and carrying case, first pattern, « 1940 »

A nice and rare German early-war folding shovel set. The carrying case is constructed in black leather, nicely marked with makers details and the date « 40 ». The shovel is properly marked with the maker’s code, the date « agv40 » and the Waffenamt. The set is in overall very good condition. Very difficult to find in today's collectors market. Truly a choice set even for the most discerning collector.
