German folding shovel and carrying case, first pattern, « 1939 »
Description
A very nice and rare German early-war folding shovel set. This is the first time we've come across such an early dated example. The set is in overall very good condition. The carrying case is constructed in black vinyl and blackened leather, nicely marked with makers details, the date « Georg A. Lerch G.m.b.H. Berlin 1939 » and Waffenamt. The shovel is properly marked with the maker’s logo and Waffenamt. Extremely difficult to find in today's collectors market. Truly a choice set.
