German Heer converted M43 EM/NCO cap
Description
A German Heer M43 field service cap. Factory produced M42 with classic hand stitched and desirable « BeVo » T-shaped insignia. The cap was converted wartime to a classic M43 field service cap with the addition of a wool bill. The cap is in overall very nice combat used and worn condition. It retains worn yet present front closure buttons. Some light soiling and staining is present, air vets are present, complete and show some light oxidation. The cap's interior matches the exterior perfectly. Nice lined in a light grey rayon artificial lining. Ink stamped with all the information including size, maker, location and year of production « 58 / OPOLLO & MUELLER / HAMBURG / 1942 ». Of interesting note is the rarer application of a leather sweatband along the front that is still present. The underside of the caps added bill is nicely lined in a light feldgrau green ribbed linen material. Overall a very nice and a very difficult to find combat worn example of this type of field service cap.
