A period factory made and issued Heer / Waffen-SS map board. Constructed from plywoodwith metal components. Works and opens perfectly. It retains its metal measuring device. Commonly referred to as the « Peiper » model made famous by the well know SS panzer ace Joachim Peiper. This type of map board was seen in every front during the war. It is the more desirable type that is maker marked « cme » and Waffenamt. A choice example from the « Baugnez 44 Historical Museum ». Choice.
