Description

A period factory made and issued Heer/Waffen-SS map storage board. Construction from plywood and with brass non-magnetic trim. Works and functions properly. Modified in the field with the application of a sturdy closure strap that is aluminum tipped. Separate all leather snap pencil compartments along the front is also present. Period celluloid corners are also intact. Ink marked to the former owner « HIPPE ». The map board retains a three period maps « DEUTSCHE HEERESKARTE ». This type of map board is seen in use along every front during WWII. A very nice example that is desirable and rather difficult to find.
