German M40 Heer single decal combat helmet, « Battle of the Bulge »
Description
A classic M1940 German Heer single decal combat helmet. The helmet is an « NS62 » with a lot number of « D178? ». Sourced recently out of the woodwork in the Ardennes Region in a small neighborhood outside Vielsalm in Ville-du-Bois ( upon renovation work to a barn 2022). Exterior is untouched with some rust. Heer decal is present and nicely visible. Split pins intact and still tightly attached. Remnants of period winter white-wash camouflage are present. Leather liner is complete and untouched. Small amount of possible rodent bites are present. A true souvenir from the Battle of the Bulge.
