German Medical wooden sign, « Sanitätsoffizier F.K.531 »
Description
A period WWII German made directional sign from Feldkommandantur 531 Officers Medical Facility. Originally formed in Berlin-Zehlendorf in 1939 and having served in France during the spring and summer of 1944. With its location in Chalons-sur-Marne, France. Constructed from typical period wood board. Hand painted with extreme detail. Has been repurposed from Company C to b a nice detail and common practice at the time. Wood has separated horizontally but still tightly secured to the two vertical mounts along the back. The sign shows some light use but overall in excellent shape. The signs measurements are 40cm x 30cm. Original untouched signs are rather difficult to find this being one of them.
