German MG34/42 optical sight with case complete, « ddx »
Description
A choice German MG34/42 optical sight with case. This is a « ddx » coded sight with a serial number « 216455 » that has a blue « + » on the periscope denoting cold weather lubrication. The scope and case retain well over 95% of their factory applied tan painted finish. The precise yet robust adjustment knobs and instrumentation are all fully functional and the optics remain clear with a crisp triangular reticle. The original metal carry case is also in matching condition. Nicely designated along the top with factory markings « M.G.Z.40 ». It is also nicely marked with the makers code via ink stamp along the side and metal stamped with the waffenamt. Front latch is complete and fully functional, maker marked « frn43 ». The interior remains as complete and in as found condition. Extra small lense and rare optics cleaning brush intact. Along with a crisp purple hue ink stamped waffenamt along the top interior lid. Grey web carrying strap is present. This is a very fine and choice complete German MG sight and would make a fabulous addition to any German weapon collector. Choice.
