German mine warning sign, « Normandy recovered »
Description
A very nice and rare period German mine warning sign. Classic wartime example made from heavy wood. Period stenciled with a dark red skull and black lettering « MINEN ». Sign was originally recovered in the Normandy area and shows evidence of period mounting. Period wear and ageing is present as well. One of the harder and most sought after wooden signs. Perfect for a display and measuring roughly 50cm x 40cm.
