A rare and desirable MP44 « Sturmgewehr » ammunition carry pouch. Left side example. The pouch is in as-found and untouched condition. An early 1944 pattern with the classic black pebbled leather bottom reinforcements in place. The pouch was issued and saw combat use. It exhibits the classic period features that one wants to see on original examples. Nice intact web straps. Double stacked leather closures are in place and fully functional. The individual flap closures are lined in leather indicating an earlier run before the transition to ersatz material. Side compartment pouch and snap are in place and complete. The reverse is complete with « D » ring in place and web belt loops intact. Its maker marked to a rarer encounter maker « bcb / 44 » indicating production by Otto Graf, Leipzig, also Waffenamt. Issued example with the former soldier's name slightly present « G. WALTER «. Partial connecting strap in green web is present. The pouch is overall in very good combat used condition. Rare and very desirable item for any weapons or late-war field gear collector. One look example !
