Description
Early-war German paratrooper gas mask carrying bag featuring the desirable blue fabric canvas construction. It is in excellent condition with some signs of light wear. Base fabric still retains its deep blue color. Straps are a mixture of material tan and green, all seen on period produced examples. Hardware is all intact with no repairs are conditions issues. They also have over 90% of their original factory painted brighter green finish. Wooden toggle present on the zipper strap and in a dark blue painted finish. Zipper is fully functional with no issues produced by the firm « ZIPP ». Snaps are textbook « PRYM 6 » and show some corrosion with a small piece of the enamel on the right closure exposed. Nicely trimmed in a thin white material along the closure flap. Interior is all present and undisturbed. It features nice brown leather reinforcements for the exterior straps, pocket for spare lenses is present and complete. Rubber plug is also present in good shape and nicely marked with code « 338-25 ». The rarest and highly desirable paratrooper gas mask bags that never make it to the open market. Only a very few examples are known.
