Superb GI’s US Pin Up Varga 1944 Calendar, this calendar for soldiers was published by Esquire magazine. The Esquire calendar was the most popular of the GI’s calendars during the Second World War. The illustrations are by the artist Alberto Vargas. This consists of 12 pages for the 12 months, illustrated with different pin-ups. The « Varga-Girls » quickly became famous and were a source of inspiration for the « Nose-Art » on many planes and on the pilot’s jackets. The calendar is in overall very good and complete condition and comes with its original issued paper envelope. Dimensions: 30,5x21cm.
