Heer officers service sword, « W.L. SCHEBBEN UNIFORMEN AACHEN »
Description
A very nice period issued officers' swords for the Heer. Gilt bronze guard marked « Ges. Gesch. », lion's head pommel, with rubies in the eyes. Marked with the Heer eagle on the front plate. Blade is nicely maker marked on one side « KARL EICKHORN SOLINGEN » and on the other with the name of the store selling the sword « W.L. SCHEBBEN UNIFORMEN AACHEN ». Sword scabbard is complete and retains part of the original factory black finish with several post-war touch-ups, but not too much visible. A nice example with a rarely seen marking.
