Description
Superb WW2 Italian Beretta MAB 38 magazine pouch, this pouch is to carry the long magazines of 40 cartridges capacity. There are several variants of pouches, this one is to carry 4 magazines. Beretta machine guns were not produced in large numbers and were scarcely distributed until 1942, preferentially to elite troops. Most likely produced in 1943-44 and to be distributed to RSI troops allied with Germans. After the armistice Germans confiscated huge lots of Italian equipment and distributed it also to regular German troops. The optional removable carrying strap is missing. Ideal to complete mannequin of an Italian or German elite soldier equipped with the solid and reliable MAB 38 machine gun in 1943-45. It is in mint unissued condition.
