Late-war fragmentation sleeve for egg grenade, « SCK »
Description
Extremely rare late-war factory produced fragmentation sleeve for the « Model 39 Eihandgranate ». Constructed from a heavier gauge steel that was been nicely factory stamp pressed into shape with rectangular outlines all around. The two sections come together along the center with a twist snap-close feature. The frag sleeve is factory painted tan, it is also maker marked by a three letter code « SCK» and waffenamt. A non-ground dug example. The paint is roughly 95% present. One small testing hole is present on the upper portion and probably factory done. The interior is smooth and shows the original factory tan paint as it would of looked like when initially painted getting heavier around the interior rim with some run off. These are extremely rare and very highly collectible. All German late-war advancements in small arms and weaponry are highly prized by collectors. Unique offering.
