Late-war German paratrooper gas mask carrying bag, « ebd »
Description
A textbook late-war example of a German paratroopers gas mask carrying bag. Constructed from a thinner rayon material in dark feldgrau color. The snaps are marked « PRYM 6 », the zipper is functional and marked « PRYM ». The bag was found with two other identical examples in a house near Reims, France a few years ago. The 3rd Parachute Division « 3. Fallschirmjäger-Division » began its formation in October 1943 in France near Reims, this is explaining why they were found in an attic in this area. The bag is in unissued condition but the three bags have the same characteristics, the rubber filter plug and the filter protection patch have been removed. Maker marked in ink with the maker « ebd » and Waffenamt. A rather hard to find Fallschirmjäger piece of equipment.
