Description

A very nice M1938 German late-war paratrooper « Fallschirmjäger » combat helmet. Late type construction with no decals and simplified helmet bolts. The markings are not visible. The helmets exterior remains in as found condition with the vast majority of factory applied paint present. Matte in feel and with slight oxidation in several large areas. Minimal scuffs and scraps are present but very pleasing to the eye. The liner is in excellent overall condition with soft leather, nicely ink stamped with the sizes. Void of any major wear or rips. Some light staining and packed with dirt and debris. Leather chinstraps are complete and supple with no issues, snap is marked « PRYM 4 ». Helmet was found in a barn only recently and has never been in any collection. All aluminum bolts are present, complete and untouched. The helmet is the definition of a woodwork find and a great example of a late-war paratrooper helmet. Choice.
