Luftwaffe officers visor cap, « EREL »
Description
A superb mid-war Luftwaffe officers visor cap. This is a « DLV » visor cap that was period converted into an officer's cap. It is in overall excellent condition with a nice shape. Blue gabardine construction showing almost no wear, moth nips or stains. The three silver pipings are hand-sewn. Eagle, cockade and chinstrap are present and in very good condition. Soft black leather visor, « Alter Art » type. Interior is lined in a golden yellow artificial silk material. Sweatshield is marked with the maker « EREL ». Natural brown leather sweatband in excellent condition. It is a size « 57 ». A very nice and interesting modified visor cap that has become difficult to find in this condition. This cap is published in a Militaria Magazine study about Luftwaffe visor caps.
