A rare and interesting Luftwaffe identification sign. This sign is repurposed and constructed from wood. The sign was painted by hand in white for the background base with red border and directional arrow. The lettering is in typical black paint / font with the designation « Flieger Untersuchungs-stelle 16/XI ». This rare division served as an Aviator Investigation Center. The sign was original found and located between the city of Brussels and Ixelles (Val de la Cambre Square) in Belgium. The sign exhibits natural age from use, several areas of darkening. Some holes from being mounted. Dimensions: 50x40cm. A very nice and desirable example for display in a collection room. Choice.
