M17 German Heer transitional double decal combat helmet, « B.F. 62 »
Description
A classic M1917 German Heer transitional double decal combat helmet. The helmet is « B.F. 62 » with lot number of « 60 ». The exterior shows a very nice matte green feldgrau finish. Light scuffs and scrapes present but overall in excellent shape. Decals are both present and rate in at over 98% with light wear. Split pins are complete and tightly affixed to the helmet. The interior is complete and in excellent condition. Leather liner is a nice brown color. Ink stamped « 54 » for size on the tongue. Dome stamped also « 60 » for size. Drawstring is present. Leather chinstrap is present and of the earlier variety and date « 1932 ». The helmet is marked twice on the skirt with a black pencil and also etched with the former owner's name. Overall a superb and rare transitional Heer double decal combat helmet.
