M16 German combat helmet, « captured / Rheims, France 1918 »

Description
A classic WWI German M1916 combat helmet. Helmet is a maker marked « Si.66. ». The exterior features a true untouched classic feldgrau paint. Helmet was only recently acquired and retains a nice matte look. The paint rates in at over 95% with some minor oxidation along the top. Interior is in choice condition. Retains a very nice untouched and rather complete liner. Liner band untouched and all tightly secured. Pads are all filled and maker marked individually to the same maker. The helmet is named along the back skirt. It is also a US captured piece with an inscription « CAPT. JULY 22, 1918 RHEIMS, FRANCE ». A very nice and very difficult helmet to find in this condition.
