Description

A superb M1917 German Army WWI camouflage combat helmet. The helmet is marked with a bell for « R. Lindenberg A.G., Remscheid-Hasten » and size « 64 ». The exterior features a very attractive and almost complete camouflage hand painted finish. It consists of the colors black, brown, brick red and green. Nice detailed photos below show the brush strokes in the paint. It remains in untouched and undisturbed condition. Showing some wear to include scuffs and scrapes in several areas. The helmets liner is intact and in original untouched condition. Missing a drawstring and chinstrap. The leather liner is stamped with the maker and year of production « 1917 ». Still slightly supple in feel and retaining the cushion material underneath. Overall a nice and very collectible example for being over 100 years.
