M35 Heer reissue heavy textured camouflage combat helmet, named, « 14th Infantry Division »

Description
A beautiful untouched M1935 Heer thick textured camouflage combat helmet. The helmet is an « EF64 » with a lot number of « 2812 ». The helmet's exterior has received a heavy thick grey feldgrau textured application of camouflage, the soldier brushed mud on top of it to accentuate the camouflage effect. Sand or pumice mixture applied evenly throughout the helmet's exterior rates in at over 96%. Some natural scuffs present and chips present. Nice smooth rim wear is present evenly around the perimeter. The helmet was probably camouflaged and the liner added after its paint was applied. Split pins are not too tight but show no evidence of being played with. Normal for a true combat heavily worn helmet. The helmet's interior is complete and in its as-found state. Leather liner shows nice use and retains its drawstring present. The original early untouched full length chinstrap is present as well, maker marked but unreadable. The liner retains a rather interesting yet known method of period application by hand sewing the soldiers name and unit cloth tag on the reverse. The helmet belonged to « Bittner Heinz » of the « 14th Infantry Regiment 52 ». The soldier’s name is also present on the helmet skirt under the reissue factory paint (see detailed pictures). This Infantry regiment saw extensive action and heavy battles along the « Eastern Front ». A true combat helmet with great history.
