M35 Heer single decal German combat helmet, « Q66 »
Description
Stunning M1935 Heer single decal reissued German combat helmet. The helmet is an « Q66 » with a lot number « 2360 ». This is an amazing reissued piece with as much of a high paint and decal rating we have encountered. The exterior shows the slightest of wear to its matte textured feldgrau grey paint. It rates at approximately 98%. The factory applied Heer decal is 99% present. All split pins are present, tightly secured and retain all of their reissue paint. Evidence which includes crazing can be seen where the national tri-color shield was present. In the detailed photos below evidence of the light brush strokes used to paint the helmet and around the decal are evident. The helmet's interior is untouched and in perfect condition. It features an early leather liner with a reinforced aluminum band, the leather is blue ink stamped with the size « 58 ». Original drawstring is present. The soldier’s rank and named are written on the leather liner « Oblt. Lichen ». Crisp and complete ink dome stamp is present. Mint unissued maker marked and the helmet's original blackened leather chinstrap is still attached, « FRANZ MULLER & SOHN OBERURSEL 1939 ». This particular helmet and its variation is the nicest we have seen and been able to offer. Choice even for the most discerning collector.
