M35 Heer tan camouflage combat helmet, « SE66 »
Description
A very nice M1935 Heer tan camouflage combat helmet. The helmet is an « SE66 » with a lot number of « 880 ». This helmet was found in early 2021 in Sologne, France, where the Elster Column surrendered in September 1944. The exterior is nicely spray painted in a tan camouflage paint. Covering over 90% of the helmet's exterior surface. A light amount of wear to include scuffs and scrapes are present. Nice and proper rim wear can be observed. Split pins are complete and still retain the same camouflage spray finish. Tightly secured to the liner with little wiggle room. No decals are visible on the helmet. With the textured observed we can infer that this is a classic reissue single decal helmet before it was camouflaged. The helmet's interior is in matching condition. The darker apple green paint is still present. Liner band is untouched and retains some debris from prolonged storage. Classic light brown leather liner is present with some light storage wear. Chinstrap is period applied and a commercial type version. It is nicely held in place by a rivet. Colored in a light tan leather. In the detailed photos below you can clearly see that the chinstrap was on the helmet when it was spray camouflaged and transferred on the chinstrap. Named in ink to one of the former owners « RADLEFF ». And along the skirt to « Ob.Gefr. R. Derren ». Overall a very nice and attractive tan spray camouflage German combat helmet!
