M35 Kriegsmarine battle damaged combat helmet, « untouched/woodwork find »
Description
A superb M1935 Kriegsmarine single decal German combat helmet with battle damage. Helmet is an « ET62 » with a lot number of « 3655 ». The helmet's exterior remains in as-found and undisturbed condition. Oxidation present in several areas but clearly evident is the factory applied apple-green paint finish that rates in at 85%. The helmet retains a near perfect gold hue Kriegsmarine decal. It shows nice patina and crazing. The tri-color has been period removed and in a crude fashion but in order with the regulations of the time. Split-pins intact and still somewhat secured to the liner. The helmet has received a large blow on the left side of the decal. The helmet's interior is untouched and in overall very nice condition. The helmet retains its factory leather liner and period issued leather « KM » stamped chinstrap. Clearly also maker marked and dated « Carl Tesch Berlin 1938 ». Drawstring is absent. A good amount of build-up and debris is present. Overall one of the harder to find battle damaged combat helmets in choice untouched condition.
