M35 Kriegsmarine double decal combat helmet, « SE66 »
Description
A very nice and unique M1935 Kriegsmarine double decal combat helmet. The helmet is an « SE66 » with a lot number of « 078 ». Exterior features its correct darker feldrau semi rough finish. Still retains its factory applied and varnished decals. Kriegsmarine decal rates in at over 95% along with the tri-color shield at 70%. This is the last type of in the M35 series produced before the change into the classic M40 production series. Retaining transitional features that would become standard in the M40 production such as the classic rough finish. Near mint exterior is intact and retains well over 98% of its factory finish. Minor scuffs and storage markings. Interestingly hand painted along the front « Br. », maybe for « Brücke ». Interior is complete. Leather liner is nicely ink stamped with the size « 59 ». Shell retains a classic dome stamp that has been partially stamped on the leather liner, a very interesting feature almost never seen. Named in a few areas. « Garbrecht » in white paint on the dome than on the leather liner but crossed out. Followed by two other names that came after with « KAPT. PREHN ». Maker marked and dated leather chinstrap is present. A really rare and unique configuration for an early variant combat helmet.
