M35 Luftwaffe double decal combat helmet, « Q66 »
Description
A superb M1935 Luftwaffe double decal combat helmet. The helmet is an « Q66 » with lot number « 4301 ». The helmet's exterior features a very nice factory deeper hue blue textbook painted finish. It shows some light storage used with several small scuffs and scraps but remains in perfect condition. Both the eagle and tricolor decals are present and rate in at approximatively 97%. The helmet's interior is in excellent condition, leather is a lighter brown, supple and in excellent condition still retaining its original color. Complete with drawstring and ink stamped for size along one of the tongues « 59 ». Ink stamped along the dome and in readable condition, nicely dated « 1939 ». Chinstrap is the correct and early brown type for this helmet configuration. It is supple complete and properly maker and dated along the tip « W. BENEKE ALTONA 1936 ». Former owner name is written in pencil on the leather and on the back skirt. A choice early and highly desirable Luftwaffe double decal combat helmet in a large size.
