Description

An exceptional M1935 Luftwaffe three tone « Normandy » sawdust textured camouflage combat helmet. Helmet is an  « ET64 » with a lot number of « 4200 ». The helmets exterior features one of the best sawdust textured three tone camouflage spray finish we have seen. Originally the helmet was camouflaged with blue paint and sawdust than later followed by its camouflage application. The camouflage colors consist of tan, brick brown and green. The camouflage paints rates in at approximately 98% and retains its original matte look to the paint. Evidence is difficult to see but the helmet had a camouflage foliage rubber band on the exterior at one point in time. Light scuffs, scraps and paint loose around the rim area are present. No evidence of a decal can be seen unfortunately. The split pins are near perfect retaining almost all their camouflage sawdust paint mixture and are still securely attached. The helmets interior is complete, undisturbed and in its original state. The leather liner in darker brown is nicely toned, retains its original drawstring and still fairly supple. Chinstrap is complete, supple and shows matching use to the overall look of the liner. Some rust and oxidation along the back skirt from improper storage over the years. This is truly a top shelf camouflage combat helmet and of the most striking examples we have been able to acquire over the years. Choice.
